“A Beautiful Fucking Experience” is a feature-length documentary
that celebrates the joy of the live music experience, as told through
the journey of the band The Flaming Lips as they embark on their
Guinness world-record-breaking 24-hour multi-venue tour through
the Mississippi Delta.

In Normandy, 1944, a young engineer named Sgt. Wally Harris
and his unit of craftsmen begin a journey through France, aiding
the Allied liberation of Northern Europe. Untrained in combat,
Wally and his men have never looked their enemy in the eye, until now...

Inspired by the award-winning book Buried by The Times. This
film
 explores how The New York Times handled reports of The

 Holocaust during World War II. It also investigates why
The Times, a Jewish-owned newspaper, buried more than one
thousand articles in its back pages. Was it simply an oversight?
Or did the publishers
 and editors fear an American anti-Semitic
backlash?

From FRONTLINE producer, Jon Palfreman, this film explores
a debate within the recycling community. A successful Oregon
entrepreneur is reverse engineering oil, the currency of the
energy economy, from discarded agricultural plastics. Producing
energy from trash, many herald this new technology as an
important piece of energy future. Considered recycling under
current legislation, but recycling advocates argue that this
technology violates the central ethic of recycling to reuse
material without changing its essence. The man, his invention,
and its impact are explored in this documentary.

Shot on the 10th anniversary of 9/11 at PS 234, a public elementary
school 3 blocks north of the World Trade Center. Some of the little
kids who were there in 2001 came back to their south-facing
classroom. This is their film: a glimpse of urban teens – thoughtful,
tolerant, hopeful and wise.

The brilliant animated film Memory Descent follows a dancer as
she plummets into the ocean depths. As she sinks, interacts with
fish and octopi, but never with a surface. Down becomes Up as
deep-sea becomes deep space and Earth’s gravity begins to pull
her back toward its center. As our heroine completes her uncanny
loop, she rockets through the earth’s atmosphere and into the
ocean once again.

A hand-drawn animated film that explores an alternative identity
Sprung from a baby blanket. The materials and methods used in
drawing the animation and recording the voice over are all meant
to evoke a mood of softness and fragility where meanings overlap
each other.

A young Inuit boy reaches waters never before reached before
while trying to fish in the Arctic wilderness in this playful and
mysterious animated film.

Alis Volat Propriis' is the final result of the Willamette Writers'
Film Lab inaugural Script to Screen competition. Haley Isleib's
script introduces us to Max, a writer struggling with his latest
project when a mysterious woman appears seemingly out of
nowhere. Could she be his muse or maybe something else?

This film centers on the life of a young soul's struggle to avoid
spiritual numbness. We will see how random thievery can
become a collector's most precious piece of art, and how
searching for beauty is all that a broken man's spirit can do to
ease his pain.

In this film an unexpected meeting with some girls turned into
a small party back at their place. As the men and women drink,
they realize they're all looking for the same thing. A realistic
approach to filming that tries to capture the moments in one
night shared between 5 people.

A slice of life comedic tale about a woman who wakes up to find
her husband has run off with the family car and left her with no
choice but to drive his macho muscle car. Set in a small
community where everyone is in everyone business, the vibrant
characters quickly whip up the woman's natural suspicion to
outright paranoia in this lovely short film.

A music video for the band DRC 3, that pays homage to
John Schlesinger's 1969 classic Midnight Cowboy.

The Oregon Independent Film Festival Awards Ceremony
honors the best independent and documentary films of the
2012-2013 season including our Best Picture THE IMMORTAL
AUGSTUS GLADSTONE and all of our other great
Award-Winning pictures at the annual OIFF Awards
Ceremony event.

The Immortal Augustus Gladstone is a film that only
Robyn Miller could make. Coming from the world of video
games where he was the director of Myst and Riven,
games that challenged the limits of what video games
could be. Similarly, Augustus, combines reality and myth,
form and intrigue in ways that challenges what narrative
film can be.

Augustus Gladstone believes he's immortal
as well as a vampire. Augustus is so thrilled that someone
is bothering to make a documentary about him: as this is
finally his chance to tell his side and clear up this whole
vampire confusion. Squatting in an abandoned hotel,
Augustus is starved for attention and more than anything,
desires family. This ultimately leads him to seek out a lost
descendant in an attempt to bring meaning to his immortal
existence.

If you watched the poker boom on TV like the rest of us, it seemed
like everyone was getting rich. Some were, but the fundamental
rule of any game involving chance: in order for one to win,
another must lose. The truth behind the hype is that there is a
dark side to this game, one that you won't see on ESPN. Drawing
Dead follows the lives of two players, Michael and Dusty, as they
deal with the highs and the lows of America's future favorite
pastime, online poker
