EXPERIMENTAL SHORTS PROGRAM
Dir: Jordan Baseman
Blackout is a film about time, specifically the loss of time as experienced by a recently sober, 23 year-old woman. The narrator of the film discusses her history of experiencing blackouts through drinking; covering a five year time period that culminated in an entire three-day time-loss, her last bender. Visually, the work stutters through black moments, punctuated by originally recorded, heavily-edited abstract and representational images. The combination of materials creates a visual upheaval that echoes the content of the narrative.

Last One At The Party
Mexico
EXPERIMENTAL SHORTS PROGRAM
Dir: Grace Kary
Traditionally, self-portraits are revealing at an intrinsic level and this intention has been lost in the Munchian scream of our saturated selfie universe. Last One At The Party incorporates this global selfie anxiety and tries to put teeth back into the self-portrait. Originated on a super-8 camera and reprocessed to a hyper-pixellated level: a woman wears the proverbial lampshade on her head as the last guest (at a party of one).
