Light Divides the Square

This animation features rippling caustics, or refracted light patterns, cast by a virtual fluid body created in a 3D animation program. The organizing forces of the square formatted fluid body and invisible shape-shifting objects that perturb the fluid surface initiate the ripples - and the successive repercussive wave formations follow. Sounds of fingers gliding the edges of crystal glasses, ice and water tinkling in a glass bowl and rain are added to enhance the aesthetic experience.
